| With the venue shifting back to
anywhere outside of Philippine borders, Washington, DC was picked
despite the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. Holding the WC-IV Kickoff
Celebration even before WC-III had transpired, the DLSAA - Washington DC
Chapter, with ample support from the members of the National Capital
Area Chapter, was already well-prepared to host the Congress' fourth
occurrence.
Like any other World Congress, the event was
graced with the presence of guest speakers and Lasallian Brothers.
Plenary sessions, fellowship activities, a celebration mass, and a
mini-business expo filled the schedule of the delegates. The delegates
and guests were also treated to a sightseeing tour of the US Capital.
The WC-IV resulted in Jose "Lito" Tanjuatco being re-elected as
the DLSAA President and Giovanni "Jing" Olivares as the Vice-President
for Finance and Treasurer. WC-IV also made a net profit of more than
$6,000. |
