A sprinter and basketball player, Lino Castillejo was also a member of the La Salle Football Championship Team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. He was well-known for being a skilled leftwing player. In 1958, he was part of the team that won against Japan during the Tokyo Asian Games. He later became the national team manager of the Philippine team which played in the Tehran Asian Games and in the international games in China. He also became an official of the Philippine Football Association. He was inducted into the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame last 2013.
