for her record-breaking, historic performance as libero in national and international volleyball tournaments, hailed as the first libero in the Philippines to be declared “most valuable player”
Even during her high school years, Macandili has
strived to perfect her athletic skills and perform at
her absolute best. During her time at De La Salle
Santiago Zobel School, she won three consecutive
gold medals and was named best libero in the UAAP
Juniors (Season 73 to 75).
Within the first two years of college, Macandili won
back-to-back silver medals for UAAP season 76 and
77. In season 78, her team won the championship
and was awarded best receiver and best digger.
Macandili then played for F2 Logistics in the
Philippine Super Liga (PSL) in 2016. During her first
year, her team won the All-Filipino Conference and
Macandili was named MVP of the event. She was
the first ever libero in the country to receive such an
honor.
In 2017, Macandili was selected for the National
Women’s Volleyball Team and played in the 19th
Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship
hosted by the Philippines. She was awarded as the
2nd Best Libero. She also participated in the 29th
South East Asian Games in Malaysia and placed 4th.
Macandili was recognized by Gawad Lasalyano for
excelling in sports.
Macandili won during UAAP season 79 and 80
in 2018. She and her team became three-peat
champions and was awarded the Finals MVP.
Together with the Philippine National Team,
Macandili went to Indonesia to participate in the
18th Asian Games. This was a noteworthy event as
it has been more than 30 years since the Philippines
sent a volleyball team to represent the country.
