As president and chief executive officer of Philippine Investment Management, (PHINMA) Inc. and as president and chairman of the board of Phinma Corporation, he steered the company to venture into education and low-cost housing from its core business of cement manufacturing. The company has invested in the education sector through four schools under the Phinma Education Network: Araullo University, Inc., Cagayan de Oro College,Inc., University of Pangasinan, Inc., and University of Iloilo, Inc. In continuing the Lasallian legacy of his father, he served as co-chairman of the National Mission Council of De La Salle Philippines, Inc., the policy setting body for all De La Salle schools in the Philippines.
