With a strong agri-industrial background, Escaño has used his unique blend of experience and knowhow to help Filipinos improve their lives through the gift of knowledge. He understands the importance of helping others help themselves, and it is this philosophy that has driven Escaño to pioneer many innovations in the educational field. He is currently the president of MFI Foundation Inc. which was chosen as a Model Center of Excellence in the Philippines by the ASEAN Economic Ministers. Escaño was also the chairman and director of the Philippine Chamber of Agriculture and Food Inc. (PCAFI), as well as chairman and president of the Technical Vocational Schools Associations of the Philippines (TEVSAPHIL). In addition, he was the founding Chairman of the Private Sector Disaster Management Network (PSDMN). Escaño has been described by many as a strong advocate and practitioner of quality and productivity, which is evident in all of his endeavors. Some of his most notable citations include the 2011 Outstanding Philippine Leadership Excellence in Philanthropy (TOPLEAP) Award in Education and the POPM Award-Outstanding CEO of the Year for 2013. Due to his work with the indigenous communities and cultural minorities of the Philippines, Escaño was conferred the title of Datu Dalanpanan. Thanks to his tireless efforts, he has provided Filipinos with the means to sustain themselves and enhance the quality of their lives.
