Stephen V. Fernandez, a Lasallian at heart, studied elementary and high school in La Salle Green Hills. He then went on to study in De La Salle University-Manila and graduated with the course of AB Major in Political Science. He became the coach for the De La Salle University Green Jins and Lady Jins in 1989. He then went to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics to represent the Philippines in Taekwondo where he got a Bronze Medal. He also became the National Heac Coach of the RP Delegation in Taekwondo. In May 2013 he finally stepped down as the coach of the DLSU Taekwondo team, after 24 years of coaching in DLSU. In that same year, he was inducted into the DLSAA Sports of Fame . He now has a huge task ahead taking over the presidency of the Philippine Taekwondo Association. He also operates the Olympians Taekwondo Training Center (OTTC) in partnership with fellow Lasallian, Monsour Del Rosario III.
