Ma. Concepcion “Chona” Gana is a proven competitor in the field of shooting. She first qualified for the Philippine National Shooting Team in 1980. In the 1981 11th South East Asian Games held in Manila, she won her first pair of gold medals. From 1985 to 1998, Chona won three golds, six silvers and two bronze medals in the SEA games. She also won silver in the 22nd South East Asia Shooting Association Championships in 1998. She also qualified and participated in the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing. She now holds the distinction being the very first female inductee to the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
