Ocampo honed his musical and artistic talents at Berklee College of Music in the U.S. where he majored in Film Scoring. Since 1977, he has enjoyed a prolific career in entertainment and has worked as a musical director, composer and jingle writer. As a songwriter, Ocampo has composed awardwinning hit songs for the country’s top artists such as Regine Velasquez, Martin Nievera, Ariel Rivera, Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano, Gino Padilla and Side A. Some of his best work includes “Closer You & I,” “So Many Questions” and “You Are My Song.” As such, he has been awarded by many prestigious bodies, such as the Annual People’s Choice Awards, Famas Awards, and Awit Awards. Ocampo has also written jingles for the world’s leading brands. Some of his clients include McDonald’s, Jollibee, Johnson & Johnson, Marlboro, Philip Morris, and Coca-Cola. Much of his other work involves conceptualizing concerts and shows featuring the country’s leading talents such as Sarah Geronimo, Ogie Alcasid, Erik Santos, and Lani Misalucha. Ocampo is a member of the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and is part of the senior industry faculty for music production at College of Saint Benilde. Currently, he is a regular judge for ABS-CBN’s daily noontime program Showtime.
