Football - "for his outstanding performance in the collegiate and national football leagues as a player for La Salle, and for his excellence in the sport through international tournaments as a member of the Philippine youth and national teams"
Michael Moran's drive for excellence in football has helped him achieve acclaim on both an international and national level. He was part of the RP Team that played in the Asian Youth Tournament held in Bangkok and Kuwait in 1972, 1974 and 1975. Moran played a key role in the DLSU Senior Football Team as Captain, leading them to become the NCAA Champion for a total of 4 years. Moran played for the RP Team again in 1976, this time at the China Football Tournaments. Moran was also a member of club teams such as San Miguel, CDCDP and HSBC (HKG) from 1976 to 1982. Thanks to Moran's active participation, he helped establish La Salle and the country's reputation as skilled and talented football players worthy of the international arena.
