Federico “Rico” Veloso was a member of the Philippine team that played in the 1st and 2nd Asian Youth Football in 1959-1960, the 1962 Asian Games in Indonesia, the 1962 Merdeka Tournament (Malaysia), the 1962 Asian Football Cup in Taiwan, the 1966 Olympic Eliminations in Japan. He also played for the YCO Athletic Club from 1960 to 1962 and for other Manila football clubs like La Salle Athletic Club, the Condors, Toyota-La Salle, Club Filipino, the Blue Guards and the Manila Jockey Club. He then played for the Philippine team in the 1970 Merdeka Cup (Malaysia) and was Captain of the Philippine team Pesta Sukan, Singapore and Merdeka Cup (Malaysia) in the 1970s. Rico also coached the 1st National Youth Team 13 years and below for De La Salle College and won the championship. He was inducted into the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
