ECE and Beyond:2009 - Resurgence
Johnny C. Sy President - DLSAA COE Chapter

This is a national convention for Electronics & Communications Engineering students nationwide and is organized by the ECE Society of DLSU in cooperation with the College of Engineering (COE) Chapter of the DLSAA.

The Event was held from August 13-15, 2009 at DLSU.   A total of 534 students participated during the 3-day event.  There were also 14 schools, aside from DLSU, who participated in all the seminars as well as the inter-school competition.  Out of the 534 participants, 333 were from DLSU and the rest came from the 14 other schools.

The 14 schools included:

  1. First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities

There were 84 designated participants in the inter-school competition, dubbed Ultimate ECE Challenge.  The format was patterned on The Amazing Race where the contestants were required to answered questions related to ECE topics before they are given their next clues.   The top 3 teams in the Ultimate ECE Challenge were:

  • 1st place – Ateneo de Manila University
  • 2nd place – Bulacan State University
  • 3rd place – Technological Institute of the Philippines – Manila
Note that being the host school, DLSU did not participate in the Ultimate ECE Challenge.  Instead, they were the ones who supervised the execution of the contest.  Ateneo is now a 2-year winner of the event.

Aside from the inter-school competition, there were also Career Discussions and Seminars on different topics.   There was also a 5 day Trade Exhibit in support of the event.

Trade Exhibitors include:

Thank you very much to all those you helped and supported the project.
