Culinary Adventures with Jerms Estrada

The De La Salle Alumni Association (DLSAA) Committee Chair for Chapters Portia Santos (DLSU Com '81), with project head Raissa Hechanova-Posadas (Lia '81), Gie Martinez (Committee Vice-Chair for Chapters, Lia '82), and member Mina Limjap (LiaCom '83) successfully mounted "Culinary Adventures" featuring Lasallian Jerms Estrada (DLSU Com’81), a Certified Culinary Instructor and Personal Chef belonging to the American Personal and Private Chef Association. Based now in San Francisco, California, former Benchboy Jerms is not only a full time banker but also an avid photographer and passionate chef. Here in Manila on vacation, Jerms is conducting the Cooking Demo to help raise funds for the One La Salle Scholarship Fund. He showcased a full menu of exciting and innovative dishes, with wine pairings by Ronnie Joseph of Ralph's Wine and Spirits.

This event was an opportunity for La Sallians and friends to get together in an intimate setting and raise funds for the benefit of the One La Salle Scholarship Fund. There are seventeen (17) Lasallian schools scattered all over the Philippines, and the La Salle Brothers, recognizing that education is a great equalizer of opportunities for our less fortunate countrymen, have launched an initiative to increase scholarships to 20% of total student population.

The event was made possible by the following sponsors:

MAJOR: JOHNNY AIR CARGO, RALPH’S WINE AND SPIRITS, MAGSAYSAY INSTITUTE OF HOSPITALITY AND CULINARY ARTS (MIHCA) THRU CHEF THAD GAYANELO WHO REFERRED US TO FRANCIS DY OF MIHCA

MINOR: DESTILERIA LIMTUACO, CAFÉ ENZO, 7-11, RFM CORPORATION, PLDT, SAN MIGUEL PUREFOODS, GINERBRA SAN MIGUEL, MAGNOLIA, CANADIAN BED LINENS, ADWORLD,

AND RAMON MANALO

Location: Nov. 3, 2009, at Doris Magsaysay Ho’s Magsaysay Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA)
