| The DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame Award honors athletes who have shown outstanding performance individually or as part of a team in representing DLSU - M or any DLSB - PD school in officially recognized competitions or who have been members of Philippine delegations in prestigious regional or international sports events, such as the Olympics, Asian Games, Southeast Asian Games, etc. Coaches, trainers, managers, project directors, cheerleaders, or officials may also be recognized, as well as major contributors to the enhancement of La Salle or Philippine sports. Inductees should have demonstrated role model qualities and serve as inspiration to Lasallians in particular and the Filipino youth in general. Nominees must have been out of any La Salle District school for at least twenty (20) years from his graduation or last playing date, whichever occurred first and may receive the award only once. The De La Salle Alumni Sports Foundation started the then named De La Salle Sports Hall of Fame Award in 1992. The Foundation, a project of HS '64 spearheaded by Carlos A. Velez and other members of the class, was turned over to the DLSAA. The DLSAA changed the name of the award to the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame Award and the awardees are called inductees. |

| The DLSAA Sports Achievement Award recognizes the athletic achievement or contribution of Lasallian athletes who have not yet exhausted the 20-year prescriptive period. This award almost exclusively focuses on a noteworthy school, national, or international athletic achievement or series of achievements and does not, because of the absence of a time test, necessarily honor both achievement(s) and person. Nonetheless, awardees must still be admirable athletes, athletic staff, and/or contributors who have represented, given esteem, or contributed to La Salle in official competitions or other prestigious sports events. They must also possess immediate demonstrated role model qualities. The DLSAA shall constitute a DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame Award Committee composed of the following: - The DLSAA Vice-President for Honors and Awards or his equivalent;
- The DLSAA Vice-President for Sports;
- The Director of DLSU - M's Office of Sports Development;
- Any two former inductees to the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame; and
- Any two respected senior DLSAA alumni appointed by the DLSAA President and approved by the Board
Like the Exemplary Honors Committee, the DLSAA Sports Hall of Fame Award Committee shall solicit nominations, screen nominees, conduct research, and select awardees for both sports honors awards. The Committee shall submit its award recommendations to the DLSAA Board for approval. |
