Exemplary Honors: DLSAA Lasallian Achievement Awards
The DLSAA Lasallian Achievement Award honors alumni who have achieved either industrial, managerial, professional, avocational, or public service distinction or series of distinctions. This award category is dissimilar to the DLSAA Distinguished Lasallian Award in two main aspects:
- It focuses more on the singular distinctive achievements of the awardee in a single area and, accordingly, principally focuses on tasks rather on the persons and
- The award does not have a minimum 20-year award lapse.
The composition of the DLSAA Lasallian Exemplary Honors committee is the following:
- Chair - Vice-President for Honors and Awards or his equivalent, DLSAA
- Members - President, DLSAA; Chair, Board of Trustees, DLSU-M or his representative; President, DLSU or his representative; Executive Vice-President, DLSU-M; Executive Vice-President, DLS College of Saint Benilde; A Christian Brother from the DLB-PD nominated by the Brother Visitor; Two senior alumni, not less than 40 years old, nominated by the DLSAA President and approved by the Board; Five (5) committee members, including the Chair, shall constitute a quorum and whose decisions shall bind the committee.
The DLSAA shall form an Exemplary Honors Committee headed by the Vice-President for Honors and Awards or his equivalent which shall solicit nominations, screen nominees, conduct research on nominees, and select awardees for both the DLSAA Distinguished Lasallian Award and the DLSAA Lasallian Achievement Award. The Committee shall submit its award recommendations to the DLSAA Board for approval or confirmation.
