Legendary international bowler Rafael Nepomuceno is a six-time world bowling champion. He was the first athlete to be enshrined in the Philippine Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame after that group five times named him Athlete of the Year. Paeng was the first Filipino athlete bestowed with both The Philippine Legion of Honor (1999) and Presidential Medal of Merit (1984), and was named Filipino Athlete of the Century in 1999. This Hall of Famer’s first Guinness Record was for winning four World Cups in three different decades (70s, 80s, and 90s). His second Guinness distinction was in recognition of his triumph as the youngest to win a world title at age 19. Paeng holds his third Guinness Record for having the most number of worldwide career tournament championship titles. He is also the first and only Asian to be certified as a United States Bowling Congress (USBC) GOLD Level Coach. In 2008 he was awarded the Order of Lakandula with class of Champion for Life and has been declared as the Best Filipino athlete of all time.
