Sportsman, leader and philanthropist, Don Celso Salvador Tuason’s quest to attain perfection in golf and his generosity of spirit are famous .Although he took up golf in his mid-30s, he became an accomplished player, meriting The Philippine Amateur Golf Championship 1951 and 1952. And Low Amateur Medalist in the Philippine Open in 1953. His intense concentration was matched by his smooth, classic swing. Don Celso’s influence on the game was as great as his legacy was extensive .He brought a staunch commitment to excellence and financially aided and guided professional golfers and caddies to achieve . A born leader, he became founding president of the Republic of the Philippines Golf Association ( RPGA ) and initiated the creation of The Far East Asian Golf Circuit. He also became the founder and first president of Valley Golf and Country Club in 1958 , known for its championship course . Prior to this endeavor, Don Celso was president of Wack Wack Golf and Country Club. As an entrepreneur, he pioneered in manufacturing firearms and ammunition under Squires Bingham Mfg (now ArmsCor). His success was shared in the patronage of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and other causes. Aside from being referred to as " Mr. Golf" , Celso Tuason was also a Shooter , Hunter, and Sport Fisherman , with a passion for music and photography.
